Q. Where do the Northside Steelers play home games?

A. Oliver High School - 2323 Brighton Road, 15212

 

 

 

Q. Are all the coaching staff certified?

A. All coaches and staff members must apply and pass Pennsylvania’s Act 33 (Child abuse) and Act 34 (criminal) background checks

 

 

 

Q. When does football season start?

A. Football conditioning / training begins in June and the season officially kicks off in August of each year; the regular season typically ends in September or October (pending playoff/championship games) followed by our annual sports banquet in mid-November.

 

 

 

Q. What age can I sign my child up?

A. Children as young as 4 years of age can participate and compete as long as they will have turned 5 years old by November 1st of each year; children who will turn 15 years old prior to the championship game cannot participate and compete at this time.

 

 

 

Q. Does the NSYAA offer any other sports besides football?

A. Yes, we are currently running basketball clinics for the younger kids and we partner with the AAU basketball league to serve our older kids. We also offer track through our collaboration with Stallions Track Club.

 

 

 

Q. Is there a cost to attend home games?

A. Yes, the cost for entrance to home games is $5 per person

 

 

 

Q. Will NSYAA accept new volunteers?

A. Absolutely, we are always looking for volunteers all year around; as long as background checks come back acceptable. Anyone interested can call (412) 339-0385 or complete the form on our Contact Us page.
